Answers to the 10 most common billing questions about TalkWriter.
1. What payment processor does TalkWriter use?
TalkWriter uses Stripe for all payment processing. Your payment details are stored securely by Stripe. TalkWriter never has access to your full card number.
2. What currency is TalkWriter billed in?
All prices are in US Dollars (USD). Your bank may apply a currency conversion fee if you pay from outside the United States.
3. Is tax included in the listed price?
No. Prices shown are before tax. Applicable sales tax or VAT is calculated at checkout based on your location and displayed before you confirm payment.
4. Do I need a credit card for the free trial?
No. The 14-day Pro trial does not require any payment information. You only pay if you choose to upgrade.
5. What happens if I upgrade mid-cycle?
Your Pro subscription starts immediately. Your first billing cycle begins on the day you upgrade. If you upgrade during a free trial, billing begins when the trial ends.
6. How does proration work when switching billing cycles?
Stripe calculates a prorated amount automatically. You are credited for unused time on your current plan and charged the difference for the new one. The exact amount is shown before you confirm the switch.
7. Can I downgrade from Pro to Free?
Yes. Cancel your subscription and your account moves to the Free plan at the end of your current billing period. You keep Pro access until then, and no data is lost.
8. What if my payment fails?
Stripe retries failed payments automatically over several days. You receive email notifications to update your payment method. Pro access continues during the retry period. If all retries fail, your account moves to Free. Update your card anytime in Settings > Subscription > Manage Billing. See Payment Methods for details.
9. How do I get a receipt or invoice?
Stripe sends email receipts after every payment. You can also download PDF invoices from the Stripe customer portal: Settings > Subscription > Manage Billing > Billing History. See Invoices & Receipts for full steps.
10. Can I get a refund?
TalkWriter offers refunds within the first 7 days of a new subscription or annual renewal. Email support@talkwriter.ai within 7 days of the charge. See Cancellation & Refunds for the full policy.
