Security Overview
TalkWriter is built with a security-first approach. Your voice data and dictated text are protected at every stage, from the moment you speak to the moment your words appear on screen.
Core Security Principles
- Zero audio retention -- Your voice recordings are never stored. Audio is processed in real-time and immediately discarded.
- Encryption in transit -- All data between your Mac and TalkWriter's servers is encrypted with TLS 1.3.
- Minimal data collection -- We only collect what is strictly necessary to provide the service: your account profile, dictionary, snippets, settings, and session metadata.
- Privacy by default -- No data sharing, no ad tracking, no third-party analytics on your dictation content.
- Secure authentication -- Google OAuth 2.0 and email/password with hashed credentials.

Infrastructure
- Cloud hosted -- TalkWriter runs on established cloud infrastructure with built-in redundancy.
- Secure payments -- All billing is handled through Stripe. TalkWriter never sees or stores credit card information.

FAQ
Does TalkWriter sell my data? No. We never sell, share, or monetize user data in any way.
Can I request deletion of all my data? Yes. Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account, or email support@talkwriter.ai.
Where can I read the full privacy policy? Visit talkwriter.ai/privacy.
Is my dictated text stored on servers? Audio is streamed for real-time processing and never stored. Dictated text passes through the AI pipeline and is delivered to your device; it is not permanently retained on TalkWriter's servers.
