Signing In

TalkWriter requires an account to track your usage, sync preferences, and manage your subscription. You can sign in with Google or Email. Both methods are free and take less than a minute.

Sign In with Google

This is the fastest option if you have a Google account:

  1. Launch TalkWriter and click Sign in with Google.
  2. Your default browser opens to Google's sign-in page.
  3. Choose your Google account (or enter your credentials).
  4. Google redirects back to TalkWriter automatically.
  5. You see your account name in the TalkWriter sidebar.
tip

If you use Google Workspace (company email through Google), you can sign in with your work account.


Sign In with Email

Use this if you prefer not to link a Google account:

  1. Launch TalkWriter and click Sign in with Email.
  2. Enter your email address and create a password.
  3. Check your inbox for a verification email.
  4. Click the verification link in the email.
  5. Return to TalkWriter. You are now signed in.

If you do not see the verification email, check your spam or junk folder. The email comes from noreply@talkwriter.ai.


Session Management

TalkWriter keeps you signed in until you explicitly sign out. Here is how sessions work:

How to Sign Out

  1. Open TalkWriter.
  2. Click your account name in the sidebar.
  3. Click Sign Out.

Using Multiple Devices

Your TalkWriter account works on any number of Macs:

  • Your subscription (Free, Pro, or Enterprise) applies across all devices.
  • Your word count is shared across devices (the same 2,000 words/week on Free).
  • Your preferences sync to your account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an account to use the free plan? Yes. A free account is required to track your weekly word usage.

Can I switch from email sign-in to Google later? If you signed up with the same email address that your Google account uses, contact support to link them.

What happens to my data if I sign out? Your account data is stored on TalkWriter's servers. Signing out only ends your local session. Signing back in restores everything.

I forgot my email password. What do I do? Click Forgot Password on the sign-in screen to receive a password reset email.
