The analytics dashboard shows you exactly how your team uses TalkWriter. Use it to track adoption, identify power users, and demonstrate ROI.
Dashboard Metrics
Access analytics at Admin Portal → Analytics.
Overview Cards
| Metric | What It Measures |
|---|---|
| Total words dictated | All words dictated across your organization this period |
| Active users | Number of team members who dictated at least once |
| Adoption rate | Active users divided by total licensed seats (percentage) |
| Avg. words per user | Total words divided by active users |
Usage Trends
A line chart showing daily or weekly dictation volume over time. Use this to:
- Spot adoption growth after onboarding
- Identify drop-offs that may need attention
- Compare periods (week-over-week, month-over-month)
Per-User Breakdown
A table listing every team member with:

| Words this period | Total words dictated in the selected time range |
| Sessions | Number of dictation sessions started |
| Top app | The application they dictate into most often |
| Last active | Date of their most recent dictation session |
| TalkTone used | Their most-used AI polish style |

See which applications your team dictates into:
- Bar chart ranking apps by dictation volume
- Common apps include Google Docs, Slack, VS Code, Microsoft Word, and email clients

- Professional, Casual, Concise, Friendly, Technical, Custom
Exporting Data
- Select your desired date range using the picker at the top
- Click Export CSV to download the raw data
- Open in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet tool
Time Ranges
Choose from preset or custom ranges:
- Last 7 days — Quick weekly snapshot
- Last 30 days — Monthly overview
- Last 90 days — Quarterly trends
- Custom range — Pick any start and end date
FAQ
How often is analytics data updated? Data refreshes every hour. There may be up to a 60-minute delay for the most recent sessions.
Can I see analytics for a specific department? Yes. Use the Department filter if your SCIM provisioning syncs department data.
Is individual dictation content visible to admins? No. Admins see usage metrics only (word counts, session counts, app names). The actual dictated text is never visible to anyone except the user.
