TalkTone with Banglish

Pro Feature

TalkTone and Banglish both require TalkWriter Pro or Enterprise. Upgrade to Pro →

TalkTone and Banglish are two separate features, but when you combine them, something powerful happens: your spoken Bengali (or Hindi, Urdu, etc.) gets transliterated into Latin script AND styled by TalkTone at the same time.

This means you can dictate a casual Bengali message and get a romantically styled Banglish output, or speak a professional Bengali email and get it formatted as formal Banglish correspondence.

How It Works

When both TalkTone and Banglish are enabled, the processing pipeline is:

  1. You speak in Bengali (or another supported language)
  2. Speech-to-text transcribes your speech in the native script
  3. Banglish romanizes the native script into Latin letters
  4. TalkTone applies your chosen style and formatting to the romanized text

The result: styled, formatted text in your language, written in Latin letters.

Settings Configuration

To use TalkTone with Banglish:

  1. Enable Banglish mode in Settings > Language > Transliteration
  2. Set your speech language to your language (Bengali, Hindi, etc.) -- do NOT use Auto
  3. Enable TalkTone and choose your mode and style
  4. Both features will work together automatically
Important: Set Language Manually

When using Banglish, you must set your speech language manually. Auto-detect does not work reliably with Banglish. See Auto vs Manual Language Selection for details.

Tips for Best Results

  1. Speak naturally -- Don't try to speak in a "formal" way just because you selected a formal style. TalkTone handles the styling.
  2. Use Medium intensity -- This gives TalkTone enough room to style the text while keeping your original Banglish phrasing recognizable.
  3. Test with Live Test -- Type some Banglish text and preview how different styles transform it before dictating.
  4. Combine with Custom Instructions -- Add rules like "always add respectful Bengali greetings" or "use Dhaka dialect" for more personalized output.
tip

The Romantic + Banglish combination is extremely popular for messaging. If you text loved ones in Banglish, try it -- it adds beautiful emotional depth to your transliterated messages.
