Login Issues

Symptom

You cannot sign into TalkWriter. The login screen hangs, shows an error, or the browser window does not open.

Quick Fix

Quit TalkWriter, reopen it, and try signing in again. If using Google OAuth, make sure pop-ups are not blocked in your browser.

TalkWriter supports two login methods:

If the Google sign-in window does not open or gets stuck:

  1. Make sure your default browser is working (try opening any website)
  2. Check that pop-ups are not blocked in your browser settings
  3. If the browser opened but the page is blank, try a different browser as your default

TalkWriter needs an internet connection to authenticate:

  2. If the website does not load, fix your internet connection first
  3. If you are on a corporate network, check that auth.talkwriter.ai is not blocked by your firewall

✅ Step 6: Check for Enterprise SSO

If your organization uses TalkWriter Enterprise with SSO:

  1. You may need to sign in through your company's identity provider, not Google or email
  2. Contact your IT admin to confirm the correct login method
  3. Check the SSO Configuration guide
